Plumbing Design and Fire Suppression

We utilize proven technologies for your Plumbing Designs and Fire Suppression Systems Engineering projects. Our Engineers use cutting edge Computer Aided Design tools to create your project in accordance to Federal, State & County code standards.

Boiler and Hot Water Systems

Peterson Engineering Inc is raising the standard for innovation, reliability and LEED conscious design by providing Green Energy Efficient Boiler/Hot Water System Engineering Services.

Building Information Modeling Services

With the ever growing demand for higher density CAD production life-cycle. Building Information Design (BIM)
brings an integrated architectural, engineering and construction work
flow to help utilize information that has been pre-loaded into a design project. At PEI, we utilize Revit & Bentley packages to produce fluid business information models that integrate seamlessly with our project member designs. Our engineers have vast experience using Bentley MicroStation, Revit (2013, 2014, 2015) design environments.

Our engineers have the expertise to develop Revit family BIMs’ to meet or exceed AutoDesk standards for visual content and para-metrical meta data. All our projects accompany applicable, files contain LEED credit information, shared parameters, materials and finishes, Omni-Class titles/codes, Master-Format titles/numbers; and ADA compliancy.

Solar Energy Efficient Engineering

Peterson Engineering provides Solar Energy Efficient Designs & Auditing services. Our Engineers have vast experience in creating green efficient designs and have worked in an array of projects that involve harnessing natural energy. We utilize proprietary benchmark testing and stress testing tools to ensure that you get the most out of your green efficient investment.

Energy Auditing

A sustainable building may cost more up front, but saves money through lower operating costs over the life of the building. The sustainable building approach applies a project life cycle cost analysis for determining the appropriate up-front expenditure. This method calculates costs over the useful life of the asset. Some benefits of sustainable design, however, are not easily measured. Improved occupant health, comfort, productivity, reduced pollution and landfill waste are just a few of the hidden benefits of sustainable design. Even with a tight budget, many green building measures can be incorporated with minimal or zero up front costs and they can yield enormous savings.

The U.S. Green Building Council, has created a nationally recognized certification process for evaluating sustainable and high performance buildings, a program called “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design,” commonly known by its acronym “LEED”. In addition to being a member of the U.S. Green Building Council USGBC, Peterson Engineering’s staff includes many LEED accredited professionals.

Peterson Engineering, Inc. has 2 USGBC LEED Accredited Professionals on staff and they have participated in over 55 projects in the last 10 years that have been or in the process of being LEED certified.  PEI has also participated in multiple projects that while designed to meet LEED Silver requirements have not pursued certification by the USGBC due to client requirements.  Our LEED experience includes 1 Platinum, 13 Gold, 30 Silver, and 6 Certified projects.

Peterson Engineering, Inc. has been involved in a number of projects in which Sustainable Design has had a high priority. The extents to which specific sustainable concepts are integrated into the design are dependent upon local conditions, customer requirements, budget constraints and local resources.

Energy efficiency over the entire life cycle of a building is the single most important goal of sustainable design. PEI uses many different techniques to reduce the energy needs of buildings and increase their ability to capture or generate their own energy.  These methods allow the Owner and the design team to analyze the economic consequences of particular design decisions and fairly evaluate alternative approaches.
Collectively, we have recognized and responded to the client’s requirements of having an energy efficient design that meets the latest standards while still providing for low operating and maintenance costs for entire facilities.  In order to accomplish this we use computer analyses to evaluate our lighting, power distribution, heating and air conditioning systems.  This allows us to apply our experience, optimize the various systems and integrate our solutions with the Owner to provide the best overall design and stay within budgetary guidelines.
